Will O' The Wisps Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAC DEFFG HGHHG IGIIG JKJJ LMLLM

Beyond the barley meads and hayA
What was the light that beckoned thereB
That made her sweet lips smile and sayA
'Oh busk me in a gown of MayA
And knot red poppies in my hair 'C
-
Over the meadow and the woodD
What was the voice that filled her earsE
That sent into pale cheeks the bloodF
Until each seemed a wild brier budF
Mown down by mowing harvestersG
-
Beyond the orchard down the hillH
The water flows the water whirlsG
And there they found her past all illH
A plaintive face but smiling stillH
The cresses caught among her curlsG
-
At twilight in the willow glenI
What sound is that the silence hearsG
When all the dusk is hushed againI
And homeward from the fields strong menI
And women go the harvestersG
-
One seeks the place where she is laidJ
Where violets bloom from year to yearK
'O sunny head O bird like maidJ
The orchard blossoms fall and fadeJ
And I am lonely lonely here '-
-
Two stars burn bright above the valeL
They seem to him the eyes of RuthM
The low moon rises very paleL
As if she too had heard the taleL
All heartbreak of a maid and youthM
