Voices Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFH IJIJ DKDL MNM

When blood root blooms and trillium flowersA
Unclasp their stars to sun and rainB
My heart strikes hands with winds and showersA
And wanders in the woods againC
-
O urging impulse born of springD
That makes glad April of my soulE
No bird however wild of wingD
Is more impatient of controlE
-
Impetuous of pulse it beatsF
Within my blood and bears me henceG
Above the housetops and the streetsF
I hear its happy eloquenceH
-
It tells me all that I would knowI
Of birds and buds of blooms and beesJ
I seem to hear the blossoms blowI
And leaves unfolding on the treesJ
-
I seem to hear the blue bells ringD
Faint purple peals of fragrance andK
The honey throated poppies flingD
Their golden laughter o'er the landL
-
It calls to me it sings to meM
I hear its far voice night and dayN
I can not choose but go when treeM
And flower clamor 'Come away '-
