Undertone Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABB CDCCC CECFE

Ah me too soon the Autumn comesA
Among these purple plaintive hillsB
Too soon among the forest gumsA
Premonitory flame she spillsB
Bleak melancholy flame that killsB
-
Her white fogs veil the morn that rimsC
With wet the moonflow'r's elfin moonsD
And like exhausted starlight dimsC
The last slim lily disk and swoonsC
With scents of hazy afternoonsC
-
Her gray mists haunt the sunset skiesC
And build the west's cadaverous fireE
Where Sorrow sits with lonely eyesC
And hands that wake her ancient lyreF
Beside the ghost of dead DesireE
