There is a woodland witch who lies	A
With bloom bright limbs and beam bright eyes	A
Among the water flags that rank	B
The slow brook's heron haunted bank	B
The dragon flies brass bright and blue	C
Are signs she works her sorcery through	C
Weird wizard characters she weaves	D
Her spells by under forest leaves	D
These wait her word like imps upon	E
The gray flag pods their wings of lawn	F
And gauze their bodies gleaming green	G
While o'er the wet sand left between	G
The running water and the still	H
In pansy hues and daffodil	H
The fancies that she doth devise	A
Take on the forms of butterflies	A
Rich coloured And 'tis she you hear	I
Whose sleepy rune hummed in the ear	I
Of silence bees and beetles purr	J
And the dry droning locusts whirr	J
Till where the wood is very lone	K
Vague monotone meets monotone	K
And slumber is begot and born	L
A faery child beneath the thorn	L
There is no mortal who may scorn	L
The witchery she spreads around	M
Her din demesne wherein is bound	M
The beauty of abandoned time	N
As some sweet thought 'twixt rhyme and rhyme	N
And through her spells you shall behold	O
The blue turn gray the gray turn gold	O
Of hollow heaven and the brown	P
Of twilight vistas twinkled down	P
With fireflies and in the gloom	Q
Feel the cool vowels of perfume	Q
Slow syllabled of weed and bloom	Q
But in the night at languid rest	R
When like a spirit's naked breast	R
The moon slips from a silver mist	S
With star bound brow and star wreathed wrist	S
If you should see her rise and wave	T
You welcome ah what thing could save	T
You then for evermore her slave	T
