The Wood Anemone Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

The thorn tree waved a bough of MayA
And all its branches bentB
To indicate the wildwood wayA
The Wind and Sunbeam wentB
-
A wildrose here a wildrose thereC
Lifted appealing eyesD
And looked the path they did not dareC
Reveal in other wiseD
-
Wild parsley tossed a plume of goldE
And breathed so sweet a sighF
I guessed the way it never toldE
Which they had hastened byF
-
I traced the Beam so swift and whiteG
In many a woodland placeH
By wildflower footprints of its flightG
And gleamings of its graceH
-
I knew its joy had filled with songI
The high heart of the birdJ
That rippled rippled all day longI
In dells that hushed and heardJ
-
I knew the Wind with flashing feetK
Had charmed the brook withalL
Who in its cascades did repeatK
The music of that callL
-
All were in league to help me findM
Or tell to me the wayA
Which now before me now behindM
These two had gone in playA
-
I could not understand how theseN
Could hide so near to meO
When by the whispering of the treesN
I knew the wood could seeO
-
Until all breathless with its joyP
The Wind that could not restQ
Ran past me like a romping boyP
And bade me look my bestQ
-
And there I saw them clasped in blissR
Beneath an old beech treeO
And here's the flower born of their kissR
This wild anemoneS
-
'Revels the Moon did light '-
