The Winter Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBBBBCBDEDBDeep in the dell I watched her as she rose | A |
A face of icy fire o'er the hills | B |
With snow sad eyes to freeze the forest rills | B |
And snow sad feet to bleach the meadow snows | B |
Pale as some young witch who a listening goes | B |
To her first meeting with the Fiend whose fears | B |
Fix demon eyes behind each bush she nears | B |
Stops yet must on fearful of following foes | B |
And so I chased her startled in the wood | C |
Like a discovered Oread who flies | B |
The Faun who found her sleeping each nude limb | D |
Glittering betrayal through the solitude | E |
Till in a frosty cloud I saw her swim | D |
Like a drowned face a blur beneath the ice | B |
