The Winter Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBBBBCBDEDB

Deep in the dell I watched her as she roseA
A face of icy fire o'er the hillsB
With snow sad eyes to freeze the forest rillsB
And snow sad feet to bleach the meadow snowsB
Pale as some young witch who a listening goesB
To her first meeting with the Fiend whose fearsB
Fix demon eyes behind each bush she nearsB
Stops yet must on fearful of following foesB
And so I chased her startled in the woodC
Like a discovered Oread who fliesB
The Faun who found her sleeping each nude limbD
Glittering betrayal through the solitudeE
Till in a frosty cloud I saw her swimD
Like a drowned face a blur beneath the iceB
