The Window On The Hill Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAB CAACA DEEDE FGGFH

Among the fields the camomileA
Seems blown mist in the lightning's glareB
Cool rainy odors drench the airB
Night speaks above the angry smileA
Of storm within her stareB
-
The way that I shall take to nightC
Is through the wood whose branches fillA
The road with double darkness tillA
Between the boughs a window's lightC
Shines out upon the hillA
-
The fence and then the path that goesD
Around a trailer tangled rockE
Through puckered pink and hollyhockE
Unto a latch gate's unkempt roseD
And door whereat I knockE
-
Bright on the oldtime flower placeF
The lamp streams through the foggy paneG
The door is opened to the rainG
And in the door her happy faceF
And outstretched arms againH
