The Sea Faery Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB EFGFHF IJKJLJ CDEDM DMDMGM MNENON

She was strange as the orchids that blossomA
And glimmer and shower their balmB
And bloom on the tropical oceanC
That crystals round islands of palmB
And she sang to and beckoned and bound meD
With beauty immortal and calmB
-
She was wild as the spirits that bannerE
Auroral the ends of the EarthF
With polar processions that battleG
With Darkness or breathing give birthF
To Silence and herd from the mountainsH
The icebergs gigantic of girthF
-
She was silver as sylphids who blend withI
The morning the pearl of their cheeksJ
And rosy as spirits whose tressesK
Trail golden the sunset with streaksJ
An opaline presence that beckonedL
And spake as the sea rapture speaksJ
-
'Come with me come down in the oceanC
Yea leave this dark region with meD
Come leave it forget it in thunderE
And roll of the infinite seaD
Come with me No mortal bliss equalsM
The bliss I shall give unto thee '-
-
And so it was then that she bound meD
With witchcraft no mortal divinesM
While softly with kisses she drew meD
As the moon draws a dream from the pinesM
Down down to her cavern of coralG
Where ever the sea serpent twinesM
-
And ever the creatures whose shadowsM
Bulk huge as an isle on the sightN
Swim cloud like and vast without numberE
Around her who leans like a lightN
And smiles at me sleeping pale sleepingO
Wrapped deep in her mermaiden mightN
