Again Spring walks transcendent on the mountains | C |
The woods are hushed the vales are blue with shadows | C |
Above the heights steeped in a thousand splendors | C |
Like some vast canvas of the gods hangs burning | E |
The sunset's wild sciography and slowly | F |
The moon treads heaven's proscenium night's stately | F |
White queen of love and tragedy and madness | C |

Again I know forgotten dreams and longings | C |
Ideals lost desires dead and buried | G |
Beside the altar sacrifice erected | H |
Within the heart's high sanctuary Strangely | F |
Again I know the horror and the rapture | D |
The utterless awe the joy akin to anguish | I |
The terror and the worship of the spirit | J |

Velvet and flame through which her fierce will holds me | F |
Powerless and tame and draws me on and onward | K |
To sad unsatisfied and animal yearnings | C |
Wild unrestrained the brute within the human | A |
To fling me panting on her mouth and bosom | L |
