The Passing Glory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDF

Slow sinks the sun a great carbuncle ballA
Red in the cavern of a sombre cloudB
And in her garden where the dense weeds crowdB
Among her dying asters stands the FallA
Like some lone woman in a ruined hallA
Dreaming of desolation and the shroudB
Or through decaying woodlands goes down bowedB
Hugging the tatters of her gipsy shawlA
The gaunt wind rises like an angry handC
And sweeps the sprawling spider from its webD
Smites frantic music in the twilight's earE
And all around like melancholy sandC
Rains dead leaves down wild leaves that mark the ebbD
In Earth's dark hour glass of another yearF
