The Woolworth BuildingA
ENORMOUSLY it liftsB
Its tower against the splendor of the westC
Like some wild dream that driftsB
Before the mind and at the will's behestC
Enchantment based gigantic steel and stoneD
Is given permanenceE
A concrete factF
Complete aloneD
Glorious immenseG
Such as no nation here on Earth has knownD
Epitomizing allH
That is American that stands for youthI
And strength and truthI
That's individualJ
And beautiful and freeK
Resistless srength and tireless energyK
Even as a cataractF
Its superb factF
Suggests vast forces Nature builds with JoyL
And Power and ThoughtM
She to her aid has broughtM
For eons past will bring for eons yet to beK
Shaping the world to her desire the threeK
Her counsellors constantlyK
Her architects through whom her dreams come trueN
Her workmen bringing forthO
With toil that shall not ceaseP
Mountains and plains and seasQ
That make the EarthR
The glory that it isS
And one with theseQ
Such works of man as thisT
This building towering into the blueN
A beacon round which like an ocean wideU
Circles and flows the restless human tideU
