The Moon Spirit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABCBCBCDDEFEFGF| One night I lingered in the wood | A |
| And saw a spirit form that stood | A |
| Among the wildflowers Like the dew | B |
| It twinkled partly wind and scent | C |
| Then down a moonbeam there it blew | B |
| And like a gleam of water went | C |
| Or was it but a dream that grew | B |
| Out of the wind and dew and scent | C |
| Could I have seized it made it mine | D |
| As poets have the thought divine | D |
| Of Nature then I too might know | E |
| Like them who once wild magic bound | F |
| Into their rhymes of long ago | E |
| Such ecstasy of earth around | F |
| As never yet held heart before | G |
| Or language for its beauty found | F |
