My heart is high is high my dearA
And the warm wind sunnily blowsB
My heart is high with a mood that's cheerA
And burns like a sun blown roseB
-
My heart is high is high my dearA
And the Heaven's deep skies are blueC
My heart is high as the passionate yearA
And smiles like a bud in dewC
-
My heart my heart is high my sweetD
For wild is the smell o' the woodE
That gusts in the breeze with a pulse o' heatD
Mad heat that beats like a bloodF
-
My heart my heart is high my sweetD
And the sense of summer is fullG
A sense of summer full fields of wheatD
Full forests and waters coolH
-
My heart is high is high my heartI
As the bee's that groans and swinksB
In the dabbled flowers that dart and partI
To his woolly bulk when he drinksB
-
My heart is high is high my heartI
Oh sing again O good gray birdJ
That I may get that lilt by heartI
And fit each note with a wordJ
-
God's saints I tread the air my dearA
Flow one with the running windK
And the stars that stare I swear my dearA
Right soon in my hair I'll findK
-
To live high up a life of mistL
With the white things in white skiesB
With their limbs of pearl and of amethystL
Who laugh blue humorous eyesB
-
Or to creep and to suck like an elfin thingM
To the aching heart of a roseB
In the harebell's ear to cling and swingM
And whisper what no one knowsB
-
To live on wild honey as fresh as thinN
As the rain that's left in a flowerO
And roll forth golden from feet to chinN
In the god flower's Dana showerO
-
Or free full throated curve back the throatP
With a vigorous look at the blueC
And sing right staunch with a lusty noteP
Like the hawk hurled where he flewC
-
God's life the blood of the Earth is mineQ
And the mood of the Earth I'll takeR
And brim my soul with her wonderful wineQ
And sing till my heart doth breakR
