The Infanticide Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABCADEFGHF

She took her babe the child of shame and sinA
And wrapped it warmly in her shawl and wentB
From house to house for work Propriety bentB
A look of wonder on her raised a dinA
Of Christian outrage None would take her inA
All that she had was gone had long been spentB
Penniless and hungry by the road she leantC
No friend to go to and no one of kinA
The babe at last began to cry for foodD
Her breasts were dry she had no milk to giveE
She was so tired and cold What could she doF
The next day in a pool within a woodG
They found the babe 'Twas hard enough to liveH
She found for one impossible for twoF
