The Heron Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBBCCD E FGFHHI

EVENINGA
-
-
As slaughter red the long creek crawlsB
From solitary forest wallsB
Out where the eve's wild glory fallsB
One wiry leg drowned in his breastC
Neck shrunk flame gilded with the WestC
Stark stately he the evening wearsD
-
-
NIGHTE
-
The whimp'ring creek breaks on the stoneF
The new moon came but now is goneG
White tingling stars wink out aloneF
Lank specter of wet windy landsH
The melancholy heron standsH
Then clamoring dives into the starsI
