The Goose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBABCCBDBADBA

Here is a tale for spinsters at their sewingA
There was a goose a little gosling surelyB
Who went her goose girl way and looked demurelyB
As every goose should when 'tis wise and knowingA
Proper was she as every gosling should beB
And innocent as Margarete or GretchenC
And did her duty in the house and kitchenC
And like a goose was happy as she could beB
Smug was she with a sleek and dove like dimpleD
Great gooseberry eyes and cheeks out of the dairyB
A goose aye just a goose a little dumb thingA
One day the goose was gone The tale is simpleD
She had eloped 'Twas nothing ordinaryB
A married man with children That was somethingA
