The Fen-fire Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEG HEHE

The misty rain makes dim my faceA
The night's black cloak is o'er meB
I tread the dripping cypress placeA
A flickering light before meB
-
Out of the death of leaves that rotC
And ooze and weedy waterD
My form was breathed to haunt this spotC
Death's immaterial daughterD
-
The owl that whoops upon the yewE
The snake that lairs within itF
Have seen my wild face flashing blueE
For one fantastic minuteG
-
But should you follow where my eyesH
Like some pale lamp decoy youE
Beware lest suddenly I riseH
With love that shall destroy youE
