The Dream In The Wood Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF HIJI KLK MNON

The beauty of the day put joyA
Unbounded in the woodland's breastB
Through which the wind like some wild boyA
Ran on and took no restB
-
The little stream that made its homeC
Under the spicewood bough and beechD
Hummed to its heart a song of foamC
Or with the moss held speechD
-
And he whose heart was weighed with tearsE
And who had come to seek a dreamF
For a dim while forgot his fearsG
Hearkening the wind and streamF
-
The wind for him assumed a formH
A child's with wildflowers in its hairI
It seemed to take him by the armJ
To lead him far from careI
-
The streamlet raised a hand of sprayK
By every rock and waved him onL
Whispering 'Come take this wildwood wayK
And find your dream long gone '-
-
And he who heard and followed theseM
Came on a secret place apartN
And there behold the dream of peaceO
He found in his own heartN
