The Dead Dream Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFFGGHHIIJJKK LLMMNN

Between the darkness and the dayA
As lost in doubt I went my wayA
I met a shape as faint as fairB
With star like blossoms in its hairB
Its body which the moon shone throughC
Was partly cloud and partly dewC
Its eyes were bright as if with tearsD
And held the look of long gone yearsE
Its mouth was piteous sweet yet dreadF
As if with kisses of the deadF
And in its hand it bore a flowerG
In memory of some haunted hourG
I knew it for the Dream I'd hadH
In days when life was young and gladH
Why had it come with love and woeI
Out of the happy Long AgoI
Upon my brow I felt its breathJ
Heard ancient words of faith and deathJ
Sweet with the immortalityK
Of many a fragrant memoryK
And to my heart again I tookL
Its joy and sorrow in a lookL
And kissed its eyes and held it fastM
And bore it home from out the pastM
My Dream of Beauty and of TruthN
I dreamed had perished with my YouthN
