The Creek-road Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEDCE

CALLING the heron flies athwart the blueA
That sleeps above it reach on rocky reachB
Of water sings by sycamore and beechB
In whose warm shade bloom lilies not a fewA
It is a page whereon the sun and dewA
Scrawl sparkling words in dawn's delicious speechB
A laboratory where the wood winds teachB
Dissect each scent and analyze each hueA
Not otherwise than beautiful doth itC
Record the happenings of each summer dayD
Where we may read as in a catalogueE
When passed a thresher when a load of hayD
Or when a rabbit or a bird that litC
And now a barefoot truant and his dogE
