The Better Lot Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEG

Her life was bound to crutches pale and bentA
But smiling ever she would go and comeB
For of her soul GOD made an instrumentC
Of strength and comfort to an humble homeD
-
Better a life of toil and slow diseaseE
That LOVE companions through the patient yearsF
Than one whose heritage is loveless easeE
That never knows the blessedness of tearsG
