Sunset Clouds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HGHG IJIJLow clouds the lightning veins and cleaves | A |
Torn from the forest of the storm | B |
Sweep westward like enormous leaves | A |
O'er field and farm | C |
- | |
And in the west on burning skies | D |
Their wrath is quenched their hate is hushed | E |
And deep their drifted thunder lies | D |
With splendor flushed | E |
- | |
The black turns gray the gray turns gold | F |
And seaed in deeps of radiant rose | G |
Summits of fire manifold | F |
They now repose | G |
- | |
What dreams they bring what thoughts reveal | H |
That have their source in loveliness | G |
Through which the doubts I often feel | H |
Grow less and less | G |
- | |
Through which I see that other night | I |
That cloud called Death transformed of Love | J |
To flame and pointing with its light | I |
To life above | J |
