Sun And Flowers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFG HHII JJKK LLMM NNII OOPP

The spring is coming hear it blowA
The rain and wind have cleared the snowA
And I am going to play my fillB
With sunlight on the windy hillB
-
And I am going to laugh and runC
And be the comrade of the sunC
And like the wildflowers wink my eyesD
At him and at the springtime skiesD
-
And I am going to leap and shoutE
And toss my hair and arms aboutE
And fill my soul with sunshine asF
The blossoms do and waving grassG
-
And I am going to dance and singH
And match the swallow on the wingH
And put my arms about each treeI
And kiss it as the sun does meI
-
And I am going to lie face downJ
Upon the hillside far from townJ
And hug it as the sunlight doesK
And watch the pussy willows fuzzK
-
I wish I was as big and brightL
As is the sunlight then I mightL
Hold all the hillside in my joyM
But I am just a little boyM
-
And I am only sweet and smallN
As are the wildflowers that is allN
So mother says and thus you seeI
The sun can get ahead of meI
-
Blow wind and rain and sweep awayO
The snow and sleet of yesterdayO
And bring the sunlight and the flowersP
And all the laughing springtime hoursP
