Storm Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAB DEDDE

I looked into the night and sawA
GOD writing with tumultuous flameB
Upon the thunder's front of aweC
As on sonorous brass the LawA
Terrific of HIS judgement nameB
-
Weary of all life's best and worstD
With hands of hate I who had pledE
I who had prayed for death at firstD
And had not died now stood and cursedD
GOD yet he would not strike me deadE
