Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE EGGE

Unto the portal of the House of SongA
Symbols of wrong and emblems of unrestB
And mottoes of despair and envious jestB
And stony masks of scorn and hate belongA
-
Who enters here shall feel his soul deniedC
All welcome lo the chiselled form of LoveD
That stares in marble on the shrine aboveD
The tomb of Beauty where he dreamed and diedC
-
Who enters here shall know no poppyflowersE
Of Rest or harp tones of serene ContentF
Only sad ghosts of music and of scentF
Shall mock the mind with their remembered powersE
-
Here must he wait till striving patience carvesE
His name upon the century storied floorG
His heart's blood staining one dim pane the moreG
In Fame's high casement while he sings and starvesE
