When the poppies with their shieldsA
SentinelB
Forest and the harvest fieldsA
In the bellC
Of a blossom fair to seeD
There I stall the bumble beeD
My good studE
There I stable him and holdF
Harness him with hairy goldF
There I ease his burly backG
Of the honey and its sackG
Gathered from each budE

Where the glow worm lights its lampI
There I lieJ
Where above the grasses dampI
Moths go byJ
Now within the fussy brookK
Where the waters wind and crookK
Round the rocksL
I go sailing down the gloomM
Straddling on a wisp of broomM
Or beneath the owlet moonN
Trip it to the cricket's tuneN
Tossing back my locksL

Ere the crowfoot on the lawnO
Lifts its headP
Or the glow worm's light be goneO
Dim and deadP
In a cobweb hammock deepQ
'Twixt two ferns I swing and sleepQ
Hid awayR
Where the drowsy musk rose blowsS
And a dreamy runnel flowsS
In the land of Fa ryT
Where no mortal thing can seeD
All the elfin dayR
