Service Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBABCCBDCEFCF

Here is a tale for proper men and virginsA
There was a woman once who had a daughterB
A fair faced wench as stable as is waterB
And frailer than the first spring flower that burgeonsA
She did not need to work but then her motherB
Thought it more suitable and circumspectlyC
Put her with gentlefolks where indirectlyC
She rose in service as has many anotherB
The house she served in soon became dividedD
The wife and husband parted with some scandalC
But she remained and in the end was marriedE
What happened then You'll say 'The girl decidedF
She loved another 'Nay not so The vandalC
Wrecked no more homes but lived a life unvariedF
