Serenade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ KLKL

By the burnished laurel lineA
Glimmering flows the singing streamB
Oily eddies crease and shineA
O'er white pebbles white as creamB
-
Richest roses bud or dieC
All about the splendid parkD
Fountains glass a wily eyeC
Where the fawns browse in the darkD
-
Amber belted through the nightE
Floats the alabaster moonF
Stooping o'er th' acacia whiteE
Where my mandolin I tuneF
-
By the twinkling mere I singG
Where lake lilies stretch pale eyesH
And a bulbul there doth flingG
Music at the moon who fliesH
-
With a broken syrinx thereI
From enameled beds of budsJ
Rises Pan in hoof and hairI
Moonlight his dim sculpture floodsJ
-
The pale jessamines have feltK
The large passion of her gazeL
See they part their glories meltK
Round her in a starry hazeL
