When my mother is n't hereA
And I just won't go to bedB
And it's cold outside and nearC
Christmas and the kitchen shedB
'S covered thick with frost and snowD
Then my nurse she says 'Oh ohD
Better get to bed My LawsE
Think I hear Old Santa Claus 'F
-
Then I hurry never kickG
Squirm or cry or anythingH
But jump into bed right quickG
'Fraid to look around and clingH
Fast to nurse and close my eyesI
Tight she looking just as wiseI
Scared too don't you know becauseE
She fast heard Old Santa ClausE
-
Why in goodness I'm afraidJ
I don't know For Santa's goodK
So they say and brings much aidJ
To all folks It's understoodK
Specially to girls and boysL
Christmas trees and cakes and toysL
But there must be some good causeM
Makes one 'fraid of Santa ClausE
-
It's his whiskers I supposeN
Gray and big about his chinO
Where you just can see his noseN
And his eyes each like a pinO
And his clothes all made of hairP
Twinkling thick with frost DeclareP
If I saw him I'd have causeM
To be scared of Santa ClausE
-
One night week from Christmas IQ
Looked out through the window paneR
And right in our back yard whyQ
Some one walked in wind and rainR
Swishing splashing with a whipS
Did n't I just hop and skipS
Into bed because becauseE
Guess it was Old Santa ClausE
-
And I am all shiveryP
When I wake up winter nightsT
And it's dark and I can't seeU
And the black wind fights and fightsT
Round the chimney then right quickG
Under cover my head I stickG
Crying 'Mother wake up 'causeV
Think I hear Old Santa Claus '-
