Haunter of green intricaciesB
Where the sunlight's amber lacesC
Deeps of darkest violetD
Where the ugly Satyr chasesC
Shining Dryads fair as GracesE
Whose lithe limbs with dew are wetF
Piper in hid mountain placesC
Where the blue eyed Oread bracesC
Winds which in her sweet cheeks setF
Of Aurora rosy tracesC
Whiles the Faun from myrtle mazesE
Watcheth with an eye of jetF
What art thou and these dim racesC
Thou O Pan of many facesC
Who art ruler yetF

Tell me piper have I everG
Heard thy hollow syrinx quiverG
Trickling music in the treesB
Where dark hazel copses shiverG
Have I heard its dronings severG
The warm silence or the beesB
Ripple murmurings that neverG
Could be born of fall or riverG
Whisperings and subtletiesB
Melodies so very cleverG
None can doubt that thou the giverG
Master Nature's keysB

What glad awes of storm are givenH
Thy mad power which has strivenH
Where the craggy forests glareI
In wild mockery when HeavenH
Splits with thunder wedges drivenH
Red through night and rainy airI
What art thou whose presence evenJ
While its fear the heart hath rivenH
Heals it with a prayerI
