Omens Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

Sad o'er the hills the poppy sunset diedA
Slow as a fungus breaking through the crustsB
Of forest leaves the waning half moon thrustsB
Through gray brown clouds one milky silver sideA
In her vague light the dogwoods vale descriedA
Seem nervous torches flourished by the gustsB
The apple orchards seem the restless dustsB
Of wind thinned mists upon the hills they hideA
It is a night of omens whom late MayC
Meets like a wraith among her train of hoursD
An apparition with appealing eyeE
And hesitant foot that walks a willowed wayC
And speaking through the fading moon and flowersD
Bids her prepare her gentle soul to dieE
