Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCC DEDEECC FGFGGCC HIHIICC JKJKKCC JLJJJCC

Where rise the brakes of bramble thereA
Wrapped with the trailing roseB
Through cane where waters ramble thereA
Where deep the sword grass growsB
Who knowsB
Perhaps unseen of eyes of manC
Hides PanC
-
Perhaps the creek whose pebbles makeD
A foothold for the mintE
May bear where soft its trebles makeD
Confession some vague hintE
The printE
Goat hoofed of one who lightly ranC
Of PanC
-
Where in the hollow of the hillsF
Ferns deepen to the kneesG
What sounds are those above the hillsF
And now among the treesG
No breezeG
The syrinx haply none may scanC
Of PanC
-
In woods where waters break uponH
The hush like some soft wordI
Where sun shot shadows shake uponH
The moss who has not heardI
No birdI
The flute as breezy as a fanC
Of PanC
-
Far in where mosses lay for usJ
Still carpets cool and plushK
Where bloom and branch and ray for usJ
Sleep waking with a rushK
The hushK
But sounds the satyr hoof a spanC
Of PanC
-
O woods whose thrushes sing to usJ
Whose brooks dance sparkling heelsL
Whose wild aromas cling to usJ
While here our wonder kneelsJ
Who stealsJ
Upon us brown as bark with tanC
But PanC
