Morning And Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEC BFGBFFHIJHII DKLDKK IMMIMNMEMEMM

FROM THE TRIUMPH OF MUSICA
-
-
Fresh from bathing in orient fountainsB
In wells of rock water and snowC
Comes the Dawn with her pearl brimming fingersD
O'er the thyme and the pines of yon mountainE
Where she steps young blossoms fresh blowC
-
And sweet as the star beams in fountainsB
And soft as the fall of the dewF
Wet as the hues of the rain archG
To me was the Dawn when on mountainsB
Pearl capped o'er the hyaline blueF
Saint fair and pure thro' the blueF
Her spirit in dimples comes dancingH
In dimples of light and of fireI
Planting her footprints in rosesJ
On the floss of the snow drifts while glancingH
Large on her brow is her tireI
Gemmed with the morning star's fireI
-
But sweet as the incense from altarsD
And warm as the light on a cloudK
Sad as the wail of bleak woodlandsL
To me was the Night when she faltersD
In the sorrowful folds of her shroudK
In the far blowing black of her shroudK
-
O'er the flower strewn bier of her loverI
The Day lying faded and fairM
In the red curtained chambers of airM
When disheveled I've seen her uncoverI
Her gold girdled raven of hairM
All hooped with the gold of the evenN
And for this sad burial prepareM
The spirit of Night in the heavenE
To me was most wondrously fairM
So fair that I wished it were givenE
To die in the rays of her hairM
Die wrapped in her gold girdled hairM
