Mignon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABAAAB ACBACCB ADBADDB

Oh Mignon's mouth is like a roseA
A red red rose that half uncurlsA
Sweet petals o'er a crimson beeB
Or like a shell that opening showsA
Within its rosy curve white pearlsA
White rows of pearlsA
Is Mignon's mouth that smiles at meB
-
Oh Mignon's eyes are like blue gemsA
Two azure gems that gleam and glowC
Soft sapphires set in ivoryB
Or like twin violets whose stemsA
Bloom blue beneath the covering snowC
The lidded snowC
Are Mignon's eyes that laugh at meB
-
O mouth of Mignon Mignon's eyesA
O eyes of violet mouth of fireD
Within which lies all ecstasyB
Of tears and kisses and of sighsA
O mouth O eyes and O desireD
O love's desireD
Have mercy on the soul of meB
