Love And Loss Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK

Loss molds our lives in many waysA
And fills our souls with guessesB
Upon our hearts sad hands it laysA
Like some grave priest that blessesC
-
Far better than the love we winD
That earthly passions leavenE
Is love we lose that knows no sinD
That points the path to HeavenE
-
Love whose soft shadow brightens EarthF
Through whom our dreams are nearestG
And loss through whom we see the worthF
Of all that we held dearestG
-
Not joy it is but miseryH
That chastens us and sorrowI
Perhaps to make us all that weH
Expect beyond To morrowI
-
Within that life where time and fateJ
Are not that knows no seemingK
That world to which death keeps the gateJ
Where love and loss sit dreamingK
