Late October Woods Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBC DEDEFEF GDGDDDD HDHDIDI

Clumped in the shadow of the beechA
In whose brown top the crows are loudB
Where every side great briers reachA
And cling like hands the beechdrops crowdB
The mossy cirque with neutral tintsC
Of gray and deep with berries bowedB
The buckbush reddens 'mid the mintsC
-
O'erhead the forest scarcely stirsD
The wind is laid the sky is blueE
Bush clover with its links of bursD
And some last blooms few pink of hueE
Makes wild the way and everywhereF
Slim white ribbed cones of fungi strewE
The grass that's like a wildman's hairF
-
The jewel weeds whose pods bombardG
The hush with fairy batteriesD
Of seeds grow dense here pattering hardG
Their sacs explode persuade the eyesD
To search the heaven for show 'rs One seemsD
To walk where old Enchantment pliesD
Her shuttle of lost days and dreamsD
-
And lo yon rock of fern and flowerH
That heaves its height from bramble deepsD
All on a sudden seems the towerH
Wherein the Sleeping Beauty sleepsD
And that red vine the fire drakeI
The flaming dragon seems that keepsD
The world from her no man may wakeI
