Late October Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CDCDCD AEAEAE AAAAAA FGFGFH IAIAIA JAKAJA LALAIA

Ah haughty hills sardonic solitudesA
What wizard touch hath crowning you with goldB
Cast Tyrian purple o'er broad shouldered woodsA
And to your pride anointed empire soldB
For wan traditioned death whose misty moodsA
Shake each huge throne of quarried shadows coldB
-
Now where the agate foliaged forests sleepC
Bleak briars are ruby berried and the brushD
Flames when the winds armsful of motion heapC
In wincing gusts upon it amber blushD
The beech an inner beryle breaks from deepC
Encrusting topaz of a sullen flushD
-
Dead gold dead bronze dull amethystine roseA
Rose cameo in day's gray somber sparE
Of smoky quartz intaglioed beauty glowsA
Luxuriance of color Trunks that areE
Vast organs antheming the winds' wild woesA
A faded sun and pale night's paler starE
-
Bulged from its cup the dark brown acorn fallsA
And by its gnarly saucer in the streamsA
Swells plumped and here the spikey spruce gum ballsA
Rust maces of an ouphen host that dreamsA
Beneath the chestnut the split burry hullsA
Disgorge fat purses of sleek satin gleamsA
-
Burst silver white nods an exploded huskF
Of snowy woolly smoke the milk weed's puffG
Along the orchard's fence where in the duskF
And ashen weeds as some grim Satyr's roughG
Red breezy cheeks burn thro' his beard the brusqueF
Crab apples laugh wind tumbled from aboveH
-
Runs thro' the wasted leaves the crickets' clickI
Which saddest coignes of Melancholy cheersA
One bird unto the sumach flits to pickI
Red sour seeds and thro' the woods one hearsA
The drop of gummy walnuts the railed rickI
Looms tawny in the field where low the steersA
-
Some slim bud bound Leimoniad hath flockedJ
The birds to Echo's shores where flossy foamsA
Boom low long cream white cliffs Where once buzzedK
Unmillioned bees within unmillioned bloomsA
One hairy hummer cramps one bloom frost mocked rockedJ
A miser whose rich hives squeeze oozing combsA
-
Twist some lithe maple and right suddenlyL
A leafy storm of stars about you breaksA
Some Hamadryad's tears Unto her kneeL
Wading the Naiad clears her brook that streaksA
Thro' wadded waifs Hark Pan for HelikeI
Flutes melancholy by the minty creeksA
