In An Annisquam Garden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

Old phantoms haunt it of the long agoA
Old ghosts of old time lovers and of dreamsB
Within the quiet sunlight there meseemsB
I see them walking where those lilies blowA
The hardy phlox sways to some garment's flowA
The salvia there with sudden scarlet streamsB
Caught from some ribbon of some throat that gleamsB
Petunia fair in flounce and furbelowA
I seem to hear their whispers in each windC
That wanders mid the flowers There they standD
Among the shadows of that apple treeE
They are not dead whom still it keeps in mindC
This garden planted by some lovely handD
That keeps it fragrant with its memoryE
