Haunted Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACBADEFDFEWhen grave the twilight settles o'er my roof | A |
And from the haggard oaks unto my door | B |
The rain comes wild as one who rides before | B |
His enemies that follow hoof to hoof | A |
And in each window's gusty curtain woof | A |
The rain wind sighs like one who mutters o'er | C |
Some tale of love and crime and on the floor | B |
The sunset spreads red stains as bloody proof | A |
From hall to hall and stealthy stair to stair | D |
Through all the house a dread that drags me toward | E |
The ancient dusk of that avoided room | F |
Wherein she sits with ghostly golden hair | D |
And eyes that gaze beyond her soul's sad doom | F |
Bending above an unreal harpsichord | E |
