From Unbelief To Belief Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCBBDEFF GHBBBBIBBBB AABJJJBBBBKLMNB BBBBBB

Why come ye here to sigh that IA
Who with crossed wrists so peaceless lieA
Before ye am at rest at restB
For that the pistons of my bloodC
No more in this machinery thudC
And on these eyes that once were blestB
With magnetism of fire are prestB
Thin damp pale eyelids for a sheathD
Whereon the bony claw of DeathE
Hath set his coins of unseen leadF
Stamped with the image of his headF
-
Why come ye here to weep for oneG
Who is forgotten when he's goneH
From ye and burthened with this restB
Your God hath given him unsoughtB
Of any prayers whiles yet he wroughtB
And with what sacrifices boughtB
Low sweet communion mouth to mouthI
Of thoughts that dewed eternal droughtB
Of Life's bald barrenness a jestB
An irony hath grown confessedB
When he's at rest when he's at restB
-
Why come ye fools ye lie ye lieA
Rashly the grave for such as IA
Hath naught that lies as near this restB
As your high Heaven lies near your HellJ
I see why now that it is wellJ
That men but know the husk like shellJ
Which like a fruit the being keptB
That swinked and sported woke and sleptB
From which that stern essential steptB
That ichor veined inhabitantB
Who makes me all myself in allK
My moods the I originalL
That holds one orbit like a starM
Distinct to which a similarN
There never was and be there can'tB
-
And as it is it is the bestB
That Death hath my poor body dressedB
In such fair semblance of a restB
Which soothes the hearts of those distressedB
But God unto the dead the jestB
Of this his rest of this his restB
