Who with crossed wrists so peaceless lie	A
Before ye am at rest at rest	B
For that the pistons of my blood	C
No more in this machinery thud	C
And on these eyes that once were blest	B
With magnetism of fire are prest	B
Thin damp pale eyelids for a sheath	D
Whereon the bony claw of Death	E
Hath set his coins of unseen lead	F
Stamped with the image of his head	F

Why come ye here to weep for one	G
Who is forgotten when he's gone	H
From ye and burthened with this rest	B
Your God hath given him unsought	B
Of any prayers whiles yet he wrought	B
And with what sacrifices bought	B
Low sweet communion mouth to mouth	I
Of thoughts that dewed eternal drought	B
Of Life's bald barrenness a jest	B
An irony hath grown confessed	B
When he's at rest when he's at rest	B

Why come ye fools ye lie ye lie	A
Rashly the grave for such as I	A
Hath naught that lies as near this rest	B
As your high Heaven lies near your Hell	J
I see why now that it is well	J
That men but know the husk like shell	J
Which like a fruit the being kept	B
That swinked and sported woke and slept	B
From which that stern essential stept	B
That ichor veined inhabitant	B
Who makes me all myself in all	K
My moods the I original	L
That holds one orbit like a star	M
Distinct to which a similar	N
There never was and be there can't	B

And as it is it is the best	B
That Death hath my poor body dressed	B
In such fair semblance of a rest	B
Which soothes the hearts of those distressed	B
But God unto the dead the jest	B
Of this his rest of this his rest	B
