Deficiency Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ KLKL AMAM

Ah God were I away awayA
By woodland belted hillsB
There might be more in Thy bright dayA
Than my poor spirit thrillsB
-
The elder coppice banks of bloomsC
The spice wood brush the fieldD
Of tumbled clover and perfumesC
Hot weedy pastures yieldD
-
The old rail fence whose angles holdE
Bright briar and sassafrasF
Sweet priceless wild flowers blue and goldE
Starred through the moss and grassF
-
The ragged path that winds untoG
Lone cow behaunted nooksH
Through brambles to the shade and dewG
Of rocks and woody brooksH
-
To see the minnows turn and gleamI
White sparkling bellies allJ
Shoot in gray schools adown the streamI
Let but a dead leaf fallJ
-
The buoyant pleasure and delightK
Of floating feathered seedsL
Capricious wanderers soft and whiteK
Born of silk bearing weedsL
-
Ah God were I away awayA
Among wild woods and birdsM
There were more soul within Thy dayA
Than one might bless with wordsM
