Creole Serenade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IIII

Under mossy oak and pineA
Whispering falls the fountained streamB
In its pool the lilies shineA
Silvery each a moonlight gleamB
-
Roses bloom and roses dieC
In the warm rose scented darkD
Where the firefly like an eyeC
Winks and glows a golden sparkD
-
Amber belted through the nightE
Swings the alabaster moonF
Like a big magnolia whiteE
On the fragrant heart of JuneF
-
With a broken syrinx thereG
With bignonia overgrownH
Is it Pan in hoof and hairG
Or his image carved from stoneH
-
See her casement's jessamines partI
And with starry blossoms blentI
Like the moon she leans O heartI
'Tis another firmamentI
