This is the place where visions come to danceA
Dreams of the trees and flowers glimmeringlyB
Where the white moon and the pale stars can seeC
Sitting with Legend and with dim RomanceA
This is the place where all the silvery clansD
Of Music meet music of bird and beeC
Music of falling water melodyC
Mated with magic with her golden lanceA
This is the place made holy by Love's feetE
And dedicate to wonder and to dreamsF
The ministers of Beauty 'Twas with theseG
Love filled the place making all splendours meetE
And all despairs as once in woods and streamsF
Of Ida and the gold HesperidesF

Here is the place where Loveliness keeps houseF
Between the river and the wooded hillsF
Within a valley where the Springtime spillsF
Her firstling wind flowers under blossoming boughsF
Where Summer sits braiding her warm white browsF
With bramble roses and where Autumn fillsF
Her lap with asters and old Winter frillsF
With crimson haw and hip his snowy blouseF
Here you may meet with Beauty Here she sitsF
Gazing upon the moon or all the dayI
Tuning a wood thrush flute remote unseenJ
Or when the storm is out 'tis she who flitsF
From rock to rock a form of flying sprayI
Shouting beneath the leaves' tumultuous greenJ

The road winds upward under whispering treesF
Through grass and clover where the dewdropp winksF
And at the hill's green crest abruptly sinksF
Into a valley boisterous with beesF
And brooks and birds Its beauty seems to seizeF
And take one's breath with rapture joy that drinksF
The soul's cup dry while dreamily it linksF
Present and past with mortal memoriesF
Or so it seems to us who heart to heartK
Come back the old way through the dusk and dewL
With all our old dreams with us blossom deepM
With love old dreams this vale has made a partK
Of its unchanging self the dreams come trueL
That consecrate it and still guard and keepM

Keep it O dim recorders of grey yearsF
And memories of bygone happinessF
This vale among the hills where Love's distressF
And rapture walked beautiful with smiles and tearsF
Guard it for Love's sake and for what endearsF
Its every tree and flower each fond caressF
Each look of Love with which he once did blessF
The paths he wandered filled with hopes and fearsF
Guard it for that sure day when far apartK
Life's ways have led us and with MemoryC
One shall sit down here where two sat with LoveN
Keep it for that time keep it like my heartK
Haunted for ever by that ecstasyC
And by those words its bowers still whisper ofN
