Conclusion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEFE GHGI ABAC JKJK LMLM

The songs Love sang to us are deadA
Yet shall he sing to us againB
When the dull days are wrapped in leadA
And the red woodland drips with rainC
-
The lily of our love is goneD
That touched our spring with golden scentE
Now in the garden low uponF
The wind stripped way its stalk is bentE
-
Our rose of dreams is passed awayG
That lit our summer with sweet fireH
The storm beats bare each thorny sprayG
And its dead leaves are trod in mireI
-
The songs Love sang to us are deadA
Yet shall he sing to us againB
When the dull days are wrapped in leadA
And the red woodland drips with rainC
-
The marigold of memoryJ
Shall fill our autumn then with glowK
Haply its bitterness will beJ
Sweeter than love of long agoK
-
The cypress of forgetfulnessL
Shall haunt our winter with its hueM
The apathy to us not lessL
Dear than the dreams our summer knewM
