Communicants Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGHG IJKJ BLBL

Who knows the things they dream alasA
Or feel who lie beneath the groundB
Perhaps the flowers the leaves and grassA
That close them roundB
-
In spring the violets may spellC
The moods of them we know not ofD
Or lilies sweetly syllableE
Their thoughts of loveD
-
Haply in summer dew and scentF
Of all they feel may be a partG
Each red rose be the testamentH
Of some rich heartG
-
The winds of fall be utteranceI
Perhaps of saddest things they sayJ
Wild leaves may word some dead romanceK
In some dim wayJ
-
In winter all their sleep profoundB
Through frost may speak to grass and streamL
The snow may be the silent soundB
Of all they dreamL
