Caverns Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

Aisles and abysses leagues no man exploresA
Of rock that labyrinths and night that dripsB
Where everlasting silence broods with lipsB
Of adamant o'er earthquake builded floorsA
Where forms such as the Demon World adoresA
Laborious water carves whence echo slipsB
Wild tongued o'er pools where petrifaction stripsB
Her breasts of crystal from which crystal poursA
Here where primordial fear the Gorgon sitsC
Staring all life to stone in ghastly mirthD
I seem to tread with awe no tongue can tellE
Beneath vast domes by torrent tortured pitsC
'Mid wrecks terrific of the ruined EarthD
An ancient causeway of forgotten HellE
