Can I Forget? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBCDEBDEB| Can I forget how LOVE once led the ways | A |
| Of our two lives together joining them | B |
| How every hour was his anadem | B |
| And every day a tablet in his praise | A |
| Can I forget how in his garden place | C |
| Among the purple roses stem to stem | B |
| We heard the rumour of his robe's bright hem | B |
| And saw the aureate radiance of his face | C |
| Though I behold my soul's high dreams down hurled | D |
| And FALSEHOOD sit where Truth once towered white | E |
| And in LOVE'S place usurping lust and shame | B |
| Though flowers be dead within the winter world | D |
| Are flowers not there and starless though the night | E |
| Are stars not there eternal and the same | B |
