With wreaths of woodland cyclamenA
For Dian's shrine a shepherdess drew nearF
All her young thoughts on vestal beauty whenA
She dare not look for fearF
Behold the goddess hereG

Fierce lights on shields of bossy brassI
And helms of gold next from the hills deployJ
Tall youths of Argos And she sees him passI
Flushed with heroic joyJ
On towards the siege of TroyJ
