She haunts the coves and every Cape Ann way | B |
The Indian Autumn wandered from her bands | A |
Beside the sea upon a rock she stands | A |
And looks across the foam and straight the grey | B |
Takes on a sunset tone and all the day | B |
Murmurs with music of forgotten lands | A |
Now in the woods knee deep among the ferns | C |
She walks and smiles and listens to the pines | D |
The sweetheart pines that kiss and kiss again | E |
Whispering their love and now she frowns and turns | C |
And in the west the fog in ragged lines | D |
Rears the wild wigwams of the tribes of rain | F |
