At The Fall Of Dew Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAA BCCBCC ADEADE AAAAAA AAAAAA FGEFGE AHHAHH

One bright star in the firmamentA
One wild rose in the dewA
And a girl like the sparkling twoA
Following the cows that wentA
Through roses wet with dewA
Roses two by twoA
-
Shy she was as the twilight skiesB
When they hesitate with starsC
As she stood to wait at the pasture barsC
Gazing with far off eyesB
At the slowly coming starsC
Over the pasture barsC
-
She hummed a tune while the cattle passedA
And the bells in the dusk clanged clearD
Then a whistle caught her earE
And she knew 'twas love at lastA
While the bells in the dusk clanged clearD
And his whistle caught her earE
-
The smell of the hay came warm and sweetA
From the field there where he stoodA
The field by the old beech woodA
Where a bird sang Sweet oh sweetA
In the tree there where he stoodA
By the old beech woodA
-
Then a voice at the farmyard gateA
Called to her down the roadA
Where the fireflies' lights were sowedA
But she answered the one awaitA
By the tree at the end of the roadA
Where the fireflies' lights were sowedA
-
Right young was he and brown and strongF
As a farmer's lad should beG
And she with her soul of witcheryE
And a heart like a bird's of songF
All a country girl should beG
With a soul of' witcheryE
-
Oh I can see them yetA
In the dusk of the long agoH
Two lovers walking slowH
And my eyes with tears are wetA
For the love of the long agoH
Love of the long agoH
